Walking with Cameras – Course locations for 2012

Imagine arriving at a  location, meeting friends over a coffee, then setting out together to discover beautiful countryside and coastal views but at the same time learning to use your camera and take the images you have always dreamed of, Well our Walking with Cameras day courses do just that with absolutely no pressure. These courses are aimed at total beginners who want a good day out and really want to learn how to use their cameras.

All walks will begin with refreshments and a brief introductory chat about your hopes for the day.  We will then embark on a tour of the area stopping for lunch and finishing where we began (hopefully) and a brief resumé of the day. Please Note: Some walks are quiet strenuous and will also require a Pack lunch. Details of all walks are in our information packs. email for more information of courses and a list of requirements.

Meeting times will be around  10.00 am at  previously arranged points with an aim to finish around 4.00 – 5.00pm

The Holy Island of  Lindisfarne (Dates to be announced)

Just before sunrise, The Causeway Holy Island

This causeway is tidal and is the only way onto the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, this shot was taken just before sunrise one of the best times to be in this beautiful place.

St Abbs (Dates to be announced)

This is a view from St Abbs Harbour, St Abbs is found in Berwickshire on the South East coast of Scotland. St Abbs is a beautiful village and harbour with crystal clear waters, as well as being a fishing harbour it’s also very popular for diving. The surrounding cliffs are a National Trust nature reserve containing a wild variety of bird life.

A new photo opportunity

Photographic walks with photographers Kevin O’Brien & John Barron

If you fancy a stroll around some of Scotland, The Borders and Northumberland’s most beautiful places and you want to learn to capture those wonderful landscapes in the process then Walking with Cameras is for you. Do you really know how to use your camera? Chances are you have it set to auto and you just point and shoot. How many times have you gone home disappointed with the photographs you have taken? Come on a walk with us, well, more of a meander really, stopping at various places on route taking in the scenery and at the same time learning the basics of your camera, learning how to frame an image, how to expose it and get that shot in your camera so you can go home and show it off to your friends and family.

The walk will begin with refreshments and a brief introductory chat about your hopes for the day.  We will then embark on a ‘circular’ tour of the area stopping for lunch and finishing where we began (hopefully) for a brief resumé of the day.

Meeting time will be 10.00 am at a previously arranged point with an aim to finish at 5.00pm

The fee: Per person to be announced, maximum 10 persons.
